Development Practitioner, Researcher, and Policy Advisor
Dr. Tara M. S. is a development practitioner, researcher, and policy advisor with over three decades of experience in community nutrition, women and child development, public health, and governance. She is the former Regional Director of the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD), Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. Throughout her career, she has combined technical expertise with institutional leadership, contributing to research, policy development, programme management, capacity building, and training across the development sector. As an independent consultant, she has advised government agencies, academic institutions, national and international organisations, and corporate bodies on programme design, implementation, evaluation, and documentation, with a focus on improving human development outcomes across the life course.
