Tara Krishnaswamy
Public Policy Strategist, Political Consultant, and Civic Leader
Tara Krishnaswamy is a public policy strategist, political consultant, and civic leader with over a decade of experience in governance reform, political participation, gender equity, and public policy advocacy. She is the Co-founder of Political Shakti, a non-partisan initiative that promotes women's political representation in India. A Cannes Social Impact Gold winner, she has worked extensively on electoral campaigns, civic participation, urban governance, and federalism. She has advised governments, civil society organizations, and policy institutions on issues relating to women's political leadership, decentralization, welfare policy, and citizen engagement. Prior to transitioning to the development sector, she spent nearly two decades in the technology industry in senior engineering leadership roles at Oracle, Sun Microsystems, and Hewlett-Packard.
