Shirsendu Ghosh

Shirsendu Ghosh is a development professional with over 32 years of experience in research, programme design, institutional development, and participatory governance. His work spans livelihoods, public health, education, social welfare, civil society, and community-driven development across multiple states in India. He has held academic leadership positions at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, and the Indian Institute of Crafts and Design (IICD), Jaipur, and has contributed to large-scale research, policy studies, social audits, value chain analyses, and capacity-building initiatives for governments, development agencies, NGOs, and multilateral organisations. His expertise includes participatory methodologies, monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, and strengthening community institutions.

• Contributed to participatory poverty profiling, social audits, livelihoods research, health and nutrition studies, curriculum development, and monitoring frameworks.
• Led the establishment of the National Embroidery Design Bank at IICD, Jaipur.
