Dr. Vijaylakshmi Brara
Sociologist, Gender Studies Scholar, and Development Researcher
Dr. Vijaylakshmi Brara is a sociologist, gender studies scholar, and development researcher with over three decades of academic and research experience. She currently serves as the Director of the Sarojini Naidu Centre for Women's Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Her research spans gender, governance, local self-government, culture, indigenous societies, conflict, climate change, and development, with a particular focus on Northeast India. She has led research projects for national and international organizations, authored numerous scholarly publications, and contributed extensively to teaching, curriculum development, and doctoral supervision.
