Prof. M. Inayathulla is a water resources engineer, academic, researcher, and consultant with over 38 years of experience in teaching, research, consultancy, academic administration, professional training, and capacity building in civil engineering, water resources, and environmental management. He is a Professor (Retd.) in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), Bangalore University, and the Director of the Water Institute at UVCE, Bangalore University. His areas of professional and research engagement include water resources engineering and management; hydrology and hydraulics; groundwater assessment and management; urban water management; stormwater drainage; watershed management; climate resilience; environmental sustainability; GIS and remote sensing; water informatics; flood and disaster risk management; and environmental management. His recent professional interests also include artificial intelligence and digital technologies for water management, urban flooding, groundwater and watershed management, and community-oriented research and capacity building. His CV records technical advisory and consultancy engagements relating to lakes, urban flooding, stormwater drainage, groundwater, water supply and watershed management.
