Her research interests include information and communication technologies for development (ICT4D), public health, gender, and e-governance.

Dr Ranjini Raghavendra is the Lead of CODR, the Centre for Open Data Research and Chair for the Research Quality Committee at the Public Affairs Centre. She also holds an ‘International Collaboration Award’ and is a Mellon Sawyer Fellow at the Department of History and Philosophy of Science, University of Cambridge, UK. 

Her research interests are in the area of AI and ICT4D (Artificial Intelligence and Information and Communication Technologies for Development), public health, Gender and e-governance. 

Ranjini pursued her doctoral work at Lancaster University,  UK. ‘Implementing Public Health Information Infrastructure: an ethnographic approach’ was the title of her doctoral thesis. During her Post Doctoral research at Centre for Public Policy, IIMB, she focussed on analysing governance and timely service delivery in Karnataka. She has presented her research at several conferences and published papers in national and international journals. Prior to her academic career she worked as a journalist with the New Indian Express and Financial Express.
