Right to Information Empowerment Programme - Experience sharing workshop on right to information in South Asia for NGOs from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka
Public Affairs Centre conducted an “Experience Sharing Workshop on Right to Information in South Asia”. This workshop took place from 17th to 18th of March 2008 in Bangalore and was designed for NGO and Civil Society activists from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistn and Sri Lanka working in the field of good governance, human rights, education, health or development who have already participated in the previous right to information training programme or are actively working on right to information issues in their coutry of origin.
This workshop is part of a 19 months’ South Asian Right to Information Empowerment Programme funded by Hivos and implemented by Public Affairs Centre. During the workshop Participants shared their experience on right to information project activities or difficulties with the enactment or implementation process within their country of origin with the other participating NGOs.
Objectives and Content of the workshop
The training had the objective to give a new impetus for right to information activities in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Methodology
The workshop combined presentations of participants with group discussions.
Language of the workshop
The language of the workshop was English.
