Project for the Expenditure Reforms Commission Karnataka

The PPRG recently completed a project on the institutional mechanisms for program implementation taking the cases of the Mukhyamantrigala Nagarothana Yojane (MNY), the Urban Infrastructure Scheme for Small and Medium Towns (UIDSSMT), and the Swarna Jayanthi Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY).

Several sample towns and projects within the state of Karnataka were chosen to study program implementation in the case of state-sponsored programs (MNY) as compared with centrally sponsored programs (UIDSSMT and the SJSRY). Preliminary findings were presented to the ERC in March 2011, following which the comments received were incorporated and a final report was submitted in April 2011 to the Expenditure Reforms Commission, Government of Karnataka.
