      This is THE time to register your name on the Voters’ List

      This will enable you to obtain your Voter’s ID card and to vote in future elections

 

As you may be aware, Election Commission of India is currently doing an extensive verification of voters list in Bangalore and all over Karnataka, in view of the forth coming elections to Karnataka Assembly and Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike.

 

In case, you have moved into the city recently or have not registered so far or turned 18 recently, include your name on the voters list quickly.

How to register

 

• You should contact the nearest Assistant Revenue Officer (where you pay taxes) (refer the ARO list provided on this site).
• Collect Form 6 (voter inclusion form) and fill out the application
• Enclose your Application with proof of address (property tax receipt , rent receipt, bank account statement, passport, LPG or telephone bills, etc.) and proof of your age (if you have never enrolled earlier)
• Submit the application at the same designated places and do not forget to collect the acknowledgement.

 

Also, it is very important to delete the names of those who are not living, moved out or dead from the voters list

 

FORMS to be used

 

FORM 6	For inclusion of names on the Voters list, for inclusion of missing names & transposition of names from the previous to the present constituency (Enclose copy of the address proof, & age proof if you are enrolling for the first time)
FORM 7	For deleting or objecting to the non-resident and deceased persons' names from the list
FORM 8	For making corrections to the particulars of oneself on the list
FORM 8A	For transposition of entry from one part of the Roll to another part in the same constituency

 

Procedure

 

–       Fill out the appropriate form

–       Submit at any of the offices mentioned above

–       Collect the acknowledgement (VERY IMPORTANT)

–       Check the new draft rolls, when announced in January 2005

–       After that, check for newspaper announcements regarding issue of Voters’ ID cards
