VB is staging a protest on Monday 31st March 2008 at Mahatma Gandhi statue near MG road from 10.30 am to 12 noon. After the dharna, a delegation will be submitting a memorandum at the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer – Karnataka. Honorable Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka Shri. Cyriac Joseph has said that in the very first year of the launch of a new system of “mediation” with the assistance of trained lawyers, more than 50 per cent of the cases have been resolved successfully, thus saving a lot of money and time for the parties involved. In a country where cases take decades to settle, this initiative of the High Court promises to be an alternative route that the public can take advantage of provided the parties are willing to agree to mediation.
